Just have a few questions for ya...which high back is taller? the technines or the burtons? I tried my buddies Infidels the other day and they really dug into the back of my calf. Not sure if my boots sit a little lower on my calf (Nike Zoom Force 1) or if I'm used to my own bindings (Union Contacts) or what it was. I've always been a fan of the wing highback and you're the first person I've found thats tried both

I bought the F12 this season. I used them twice in bounds and they were great. I used them for an avy course recently, also the first time I had used them in tour mode. I was kneeling beside my skis with boots in bindings and the toe piece broke right off. Very disappointed in the design. I hope this issue can be resolved. What was really disappointing was I hadn’t had a bad crash or anything to warrant the failure. Until marker fixes this issue I wouldn’t recommend this binding to anyone

I recently bought a pair of viper 10 ski boots and the pressure on my ankles is terrible, I have been to a reputable ski shop and I have tried everything except touching the shell of the boot, which is where the the problem lies. What should I do? Is there a way to enlarge the ankle area of the boot(shell) .

Very nice review, looking forward to get this board. Only one question. I am 6,4' and 170 lbs guy. Is 161 cm length enough to feel comfortable in freeride conditions? My previous board was gnu rc 162 and it was ok, so will I really feel the diffrence in 1 cm? Thanks in advance!

Anyone know if Marker beefed up the plastic at the pivots for the 2012 Tour models, or will these suck just as bad as the 2010 models?

Hi Eric, thanks for the detailed review. I'm trying to find something that rides in between the normal banana and the C2. It seems like this board might fit the bill from your review. Have you ridden a dark series with C2 for comparisson?

A little about me, 5'8", 175lbs, riding since 93. I guess I'd best describe my riding style as aggressive all mountain freestyle. I got a sled last year and find myself spending almost zero time in the park now, mainly riding backcountry. I still ride switch and throw in spins on natural terrain though.

I've had a 2009 158 dark series with banana and rode a 2011 161 dark series with C2.

I loved the banana in pow or tracked fresh snow, but felt it could use a little more stability on hard pack/groomers. I also missed not being able to flex out the board to get a tighter carve on hard pack.

The C2 took care of the hard pack/groomer complaint, but it seems like it went too far toward feeling like a traditional cambered board. It lost a good portion of that "centered pivot around the hips" feeling of the normal banana in turns and didn't float pow as good as the banana only. Also I found I actually like popping with a rockered board better on natural terrain where you don't always have time to load up the tail. I don't need a board to do the work for me anyway, 21 years of skating leaves you with enough pop from your legs alone.

At this point I know I'm debating between this or the banana magic. I would like the *little* camber benefit, but now that I have a sled performance on hardpack isn't so high on my priority list. Thoughts?
