2011 Volkl Skis Progressive Technology
New for 2010/11
Most often, Völkl engineers’ innovations target the very pinnacle of performance. In a new twist, however, the popular Unlimited series gets something unexpected – a unique piece of game improvement wizardry designed for intermediate skiers, called Progressive Technology. Comprised of the new Progressive Edge tip and Progressive Flex tail, Progressive Technology allows the skier to ease into and out of the turn effortlessly.

At the tail, the ski’s profile becomes very thin in the middle – torsionally soft for the last 7cm, allowing the skier to exit the turn at will. The ski accelerates less aggressively out of the turn to help prevent the skier from sitting in the proverbial “back seat”. The skier can make better turns with less effort.
02_PROGRESSIVE Edge
Progressive Edge utilizes an early rise concept in the tip of the ski. Bringing the widest part of the ski up a little higher ensures
easier directional stability, and the tip only engages when the ski is on edge, adding to the skier’s comfort level.
Speedwall Racing Ski Technology
Völkl reinvents a historic construction and takes it to the next level with the new Speedwall technology. Modern ski designs and today‘s race courses involve spending more time on the sidewalls and edges. Völkl engineers siezed an opportunity to make faster skis – we view the sidewalls not just as lateral boundaries, but a continuation of the surface in contact with the snow. We make Speedwall sidewall material out of a proprietary composite sintered base material – Speedwall sidewalls can be waxed, just like the bases. In racing, that means less friction and more speed!
