THERMACORE INSULATION
Low-bulk Thermacore™ is legendary for its ability to crank the heat without limiting mobility. We offer Thermacore in a variety of weights, and fine-tune the amount of insulation in both the body and sleeves to offer levels of warmth that truly suit all riders, no matter what their climate.
DOWNFILL INSULATION
When choosing between down insulations, just know that the higher the fill power the warmer you will feel.
Design elements.
Our men’s and women’s outerwear comes in three distinct fits—all tailored around the movements of riding for total protection from wind, wet, and wacky style.
HYBRID ENGINEERING
We’ve maximized the warmth, breathability, and mobility of select outerwear styles by fine tuning the location and amount of insulations, linings, and 2L and 3L shell fabrics. The methods for engineering vary from style to style, but the goal is to crank warmth and breathability around the core while ramping up mobility in the sleeves, collar, and hood for unmatched fit and comfort.
LINK ZIP JACKET-TO-PANT INTERFACE
Like the name implies, simply link your jacket’s waist gaiter to your pants with a zippered interface and say goodbye to the days of snow-filled trunks. On select styles we also made the waist gaiter completely removable for a cleaner look in the off season.
LEG LIFTS
No more rolling up each pant leg to steer clear of mud, rock salt, pavement, or piss-covered restroom floors. Simply snap up each cufl’and you’re set.
NEW CUFF ELEVATORS
Reach in your pocket and pull on the hidden ripcord to elevate your pant cuffs and protect them from nastiness and abrasion. Featured on the Burton Hemisphere Pant.
NEW BLOWHOLE COLLAR
This ventilated collar design lets you breathe easy without unwanted fogging, uncomfortable icing, or overheating. Hide behind your collar and exhale cold smoke, however don’t think the Blowhole will filter foul smells in the gondola. Featured on the men’s Burton Tronic and Revert Jackets.
NEW POW GRIP
This patent pending cuffdesign features a hidden strap contoured to the inside of your sleeves that can be flipped out and wrapped around the thumb of your glove to prevent snow from creeping up your sleeves.
Linings.
The secret to staying warm and comfortable is staying dry. That’s why we add a variety of incredibly versatile lining systems to enhance our outerwear’s ability to pull moisture away from your body and into the outside world.
ALS LINING
Our Active Lining Systems [ALS™] are engineered to work with your body by utilizing different materials in different zones to provide the perfect amount of breathability, warmth, and comfort. For example, a closed-cell mesh in the core provides warmth and comfort while a micro cell mesh in the sides promotes breathability. In high-heat areas like your armpits, an open, macro cell mesh provides maximum ventilation so you don’t swamp out. Select styles utilize earth friendly ALS Linings featuring recycled, eco-conscious lining materials to maximize performance while minimizing the impact on Mother Earth.
DUALZONE ALS
Found throughout the majority of our line, two different fabrics are placed in specific zones for targeted warmth and breathability.
MULTIZONE ALS
Our highest performance lining featuring three or more materials throughout for premium warmth and breathability.
MESH LINING
Our ioo7o polyester mesh linings are a key part of a 2-layer jacket’s ability to wick away sweat and built-up moisture. It also protects the coating or lamination to ensure top-level waterproofing and breathability day after day.
FLEECE LININGS
Taking advantage of the moisture-wicking properties and next-to-skin comfort of fleece, our microfleece, waffle fleece, and Sherpa fleece linings combine warmth and the ability to keep you dry in a low-bulk package. It’s perfect for riding in milder weather or whenever you don’t feel like adding layers.
SATIN LINING
Satin linings offer a super soft hand feel and plush next-to-skin comfort, while also providing the wicking, breathability, and insulating properties you’d expect from our technical linings.
TAFFETA LINING
taffeta offers a crisp, high end feel that is often woven using a mix of silk and synthetic fibers. Its unique hand feel and sheen make it ideal for printing, and like all our linings, it wicks and breathes easy to keep you dry from the inside out.
Seam tape.
Sealing the seams and stitch holes on our jackets and pants with lightweight seam tape creates an impenetrable barrier against wind and water droplets.
FULLY TAPED SEAMS
Every seam in the jacket and pant is taped to create the ultimate foul weather seal.
CRITICALLY TAPED SEAMS
Major seams are taped to keep the elements out.
